MoCAD Opens New Show: "For the Blind Man"
Feb 5, 2010
Metro Desk

A new exhibition is opening at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit this evening.

“For the Blind Man in the Dark Room Looking for the Black Cat that Isn’t There” comes to Detroit by way of the Contemporary Art Museum of St. Louis.

Curator Anthony Huberman says the show creates a space where curiosity can thrive.

“Potentially being blind. Potentially not even being sure what one is looking for but having a relentless curiosity about asking questions about it and trying to pursue this idea of seeking an understanding without necessarily without perhaps arriving at one because potentially there is no cat in the room.”

MoCAD is hosting an opening night party tonight at eight for “For the Blind Man…”

Saturday afternoon at 2pm, Huberman will give a lecture about the exhibit.

“For the Blind Man…” runs at MoCAD now through April 5th.
